NM Mihail Bantic vs. WCM Claudia MuñozThirty-four chess players met at the Dallas Chess Club for their regular Friday Night Swiss tournament, of which 12-year old Claudia, in her 4th consecutive weekly commute from Wichita Falls, participated.
In the first two rounds Claudia defeated Patrick Magee (1322) and Samuel Baker (1709) only to face her first loss against NM Mihail Bantic (2337). Close to midnight, Claudia defeated her thrid opponent of the night, Andy Shao (1868).
With this Claudia finished 3.0/4 in a very competitive Friday Night Swiss tournament. Claudia has been ¨carrying¨ her official 1491 rating, while drawing and defeating for three weeks almost every player rated higher than her.
Today, Claudia begins a two day FIDE tournament at the Dallas Chess Club.
