AFTER THE 4th ROUND - CHESS TEAM USA PRESSES ON WITH 3-UNDEFEATED AMERICANS GOING INTO THE 5TH ROUND TONIGHT AT THE NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

TEAM USA - UNITED AS ONE
6:00 p.m. (MST)
Hotel Olas Altas Inn
Mazatlan, Mexico

The fourth round has ended and the fifth round is about to start at 7:00 p.m., it will probably end after 10:00 p.m.
At this time, the 10-player American chess team has scored 13 out of 20 points in the last two rounds, we only lost 6 points to Team Mexico and 1 point to Team Canada in the last two rounds. These results are incredible since we are a small team in comparison to the 124 - Mexican Team. If we had at least 10 more American players with us we could seriously cramp the medal standings.
Nevertheless, we still have three more rounds to go before this event is finished and three Americans are still undefeated:
U-8 Winston Zeng 4.0/4
U-12 Kayden Troff 4.0/4
U-14 Stuart Finney 4.0/4
Also in excellent standings are:
U-16 Deepak Aaron 3.5/4
U-8 Rayan Taghizadeh 3.0/4
U-12 Jeevan Karamsetty 3.0/4
Not behind far behind the rest of Team USA are:
U-8 Emily Nguyen 2.5/4
U-12 Claudia Munoz 2.0/4
U-14 Madhu Karamsetty 1.0/4
THE TOP PERFORMER OF TEAM USA IN THE LAST TWO ROUNDS...has to be 7-year old Emily Nguyen of Austin, Texas who drew with Pan American Youth 2009 silver medalist Carlos Sandoval Mercado in the 4th round.
