We wanted to thank GM Susan Polgar for the invitation she extended towards our daughter WCM Claudia Munoz to attend the SPNI 2009, at the end of this month.
We appreciate her taking the time to extend an invitation to our daughter to participate in the most prestigious girl's event in the United States.
We also would like to take a minute to extend our support to GM Susan Polgar in her continual litigation to rid the U.S.C.F. Board of Directors of any corruption. We realize that the GM Polgar is not out to destroy or cripple the U.S.C.F. but rather to rid the governing board of any obstacles preventing it from having its due growth.
We would not be involved in any Polgar events if we felt that her fight were unjust and without cause. GM Susan Polgar is an international icon who has furthered scholastic chess, especially girl's chess in the United States.
Our daughter Claudia was informed of the special invitation and she decided on her own to attend for a second year in a row the invitational. Claudia qualified last year by winning the the Susan Polgar National Open 2008 - undefeated.
This year she qualified through a special invitation.
Claudia's confirmation of participation to the SPNI 2009 is duly noted in GM Susan Polgar's website:
